“Helping people to be qualified professionals ”

Reports

The Charity was set up on 30th June 2004
Claudio Duran – Chairman
Clare Duran – Trustee

Claudio was born in Chile where he met Clare and where they married. After numerous visits to their family it became apparent that many local students were struggling to support themselves and dropping out of education. They decided they needed to find a way that would help people continue to stay in education so they could gain qualifications and improve their quality of life.

First Student July 2004

In July, The Elisa Educational Trust sponsored their first student to go to college. Many more soon followed.

Nursery School – L.I.A – Opened in 2008

In 2008, Clare and Claudio set up the London International Academy for children aged 2-5 years old. Clare and Claudio had always been impressed with the way nursery schools in Britain had been run in comparison to those in Chile and decided to create a school that would implement that same teaching methods. They would later connect this with The Elisa Educational Trust which would provide sponsorships for local orphans to help give them the best start in life.

In 2008 The Elisa Educational Trust sponsored the start up of Gap Chile

Gap Chile became the link between several community projects in Claudio’s home town that would connect English volunteers to help and work within several organisations that needed extra help. These organisations include a local orphanage, a summer camp foundation, The Red Cross, a womens rehabilitation centre and a local secondary school and the L.I.A nursery school. Gap Chile’s volunteers help to teach English, organise fundraising events or provide extra staff within these charities and foundations. The Elisa Educational Trust’s main sponsor is European Nursing Agency Ltd who generously donate to our cause enabling us to push forward and help Chilean communities.
